2021’s hybrid international Conference over-arching theme of “Sport Reimagined: Thriving Amidst Challenges” encapsulates the opportunities that were presented to coaches in 2020, to reimagine their coaching practices and professionally arm themselves with progressive pedagogies in the digital space. Thematized conversations and sharing sessions during this conference will be purposefully curated to encourage coaches to build communities of practice and optimise a culture of continued coach education. ACT, revisited, is a reminder for coaches to continually:

“Adapt” and be receptive to “Create” and seize opportunities with renewed knowledge, and “Transform” the local coaching ecosystem leveraged through innovative coaching.

As Singapore manages the sports eco-system in these uncertain times, the coach is perceived as a multiplier to achieve our nation’s Vision 2030 objectives and outcomes. He is an incisive leader, a professional that possesses relevant competencies who moulds the current generation to become better people in and through Sport.

Three broad conference themes of Sport Science & Technology, Coaching Pedagogy and Leadership have been identified to steer the direction of this conference to enable our fraternity to appreciate the sensibilities required to operate effectively in the times we live in.

Lastly, we have curated a diverse programme that encourages a participatory nature and a more congressional mode to examine issues which matter to different stakeholders where representational basis of individuals and qualified delegates belonging to National Sport Associations plays a pivotal role in influencing the necessary change in the respective sports and this conference would provide the space for them to take on a bigger role to communicate and implement their plans.

This international event aspires to be a catalyst to guide our community towards world class standards in coaching and sport.
